In typical nail and hair salons, tweezers and scissors are frequently wiped with a damp cloth or briefly dipped in cloudy barbicide jars that sit uncleaned for weeks. At Miss Gloss, any implement that makes contact with skin undergoes a strict three-step decontamination protocol:
First, implements are washed with enzymatic detergent to dissolve lipid and sebum residues. Second, they are submerged in an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant solution for ten full minutes. Third, dried tools are transferred into our UV-C and thermal sterilization chamber where microbial cellular DNA is completely neutralized. Tools emerge sterile and remain sealed in stainless instrument trays until unsealed at your mirror.
The appointment begins with an upright diagnostic check. We assess skin barrier condition, recent retinoid use, hair porosity, and event lighting conditions before a single brush is touched.
Hands and tool handles are sanitized. The stainless mixing palette is laid out on fresh linen, cosmetic portions are extracted with metal spatulas, and the client drape is secured.
